UC Santa Cruz

Welcome back to Santa Cruz!

First and foremost, welcome back to UCSC! Returning home can be just as culturally challenging as studying abroad. As you transition back to UCSC, take some time to reflect on the new perspectives you may have developed while abroad. We hope that you will make the most of this life-altering experience by continuing to interact with UCSC's international community.

Nuts and Bolts of returning to campus

EAP students should, fill out our Returnee Survey.

Everyone should, read the Stay Connected and Tools for Re-entry tabs, then come and share your stories in the office!

Major Credit

Once your grades are posted to your UCSC record, you may have to submit course syllabi and possibly student work in order to apply the credit to your major. Every department's requirements vary, so please see your department Advisor.

Grades

EAP grades take longer to post than grades on campus.  EAP grades are generally reported to the Registrar's Office by the end of the following term (excluding summer).

Programs other than EAP have their own systems. You should contact your representative. Unlike EAP, classes will show up as transfers on your transcripts.

Non-EAP participants should also:

  • Contact the housing office for on-campus housing.
  • Enroll in classes.
  • Keep ALL documentation related to the courses you take abroad.
  • Submit official transcripts and course materials to the Office of Admissions to confirm transfer credit.
  • Submit course materials to department to obtain credit in the major.
