A support system plays an essential role throughout your student’s academic journey with Study Abroad – prior to departure, during their stay, and especially after their return to the United States. We strongly encourage you to explore this website and the UO EAP website so that you can further develop the supportive role that your student needs prior to departure, during their stay abroad, and after their return to the United States. (If your student is participating in a private (non-UC) Study Abroad program, please also contact their representative/web page.)
A situation that places a student or students at risk. It may include illness or harm, or a traumatic incident involving violence, a student who is missing, civil unrest, or a natural disaster in the host country. Emergencies are not necessarily medical. They do, however, represent circumstances out of the ordinary, those that are unplanned or unexpected, and that threaten the health, safety, and well-being of one or all of the students.
